Hello all - I'm moving to east WV here in the next few months and trying to gain some insight on the fishing activity in the area. I'm a fresh-water (boat) fisherman, coming from the mid-west and generally target crappie on a regular basis. Research so far suggests decent crappie fishing on some lakes a few hrs west of where I'll be living (Cheat, Stonewall J), but hoping I won't have to dedicate hrs of driving to land some slabs. I'll be living pretty close to the Potomac (Ft Frederick State Park area) and was wondering if anyone here has any experience crappie fishing on the river. Is that part of river conducive to running a bass boat, any quality fish (crappie?), clean, etc.? Appreciate any feedback.
