Comment: If you fish inshore for these brutes be sure to use tough lines and be ready for a fight! Baits most often used are live finger mullet, fresh shrimp(dead or live) under a popping cork and Cocoho minnows or a gold spoon. All will work. Fish them close into shore right up into the grass or at the edge.

Comment: Reds are a blast whether it is the smaller "puppies" up to 15 pounds or the big ones which will easily top 50 pounds in Virginia. The best bait seems to be peeler crab but hard crabs will work as will fresh menhaden or bluefish. For the smaller fish it is hard to beat a live shrimp or a finger mullet.
